Obituary of Paul D. Mackney
MACKNEY - Paul D.
Of West Seneca, NY. Passed away with loved ones by his side on July 8, 2022. Born January 28, 1942, to Glen T. and Mildred (Dobkowski) Mackney. Survived by his loving longtime partner Christine; dearest father of Michelle (late James) Maytan and Paul C. (Foziah) Mackney; stepfather of Alison Wrazen, Angelica (Jeffrey Frick) Zachara, Kenneth Zachara and Amy (Thomas) Wrazen; brother of Linda Kauhane and the late Gerald Mackney; also survived by eight grandchildren. He was a lifetime resident of the Winchester area. He lived in his childhood home his entire life, and loved it so much, he never wanted to leave. Many times you could find him out in his gazebo listening to his favorite oldies music or a sports game. He was an avid dog lover and always had more than one. He loved and cared for his dogs so much, just like they were his children. Paul worked on the railroad for 42 years, retiring from Conrail. He was a devoted employee. He loved playing baseball and was an huge Boston Red Sox fan. He loved to bowl. He was very competitive and serious about the sport. He loved getting a new state of the art bowling ball, so much so, that he amassed a collection requiring custom shelving. His grandchildren will always remember his direction on how to properly throw the perfect ball. He had a passion for classic cars. He owned a Buick Wildcat and was a staple at many car shows. Paul also liked to gamble. From horses, to card games, to rolling dice. He wasn't always lucky, but he was lucky in love, with the love he received from his family. He enjoyed a night out, was always sharply dressed, and ready to have a good time. Anyone who knew him, knew of his obsession with making fresh cut french fries and chicken wings. If you stopped by the house, you were almost guaranteed to share in these delights. No prior visitation. Per Paul's wishes, there will be no formal service, instead we will have a small Celebration of Life. Please join his family at Buffalo Best Grill, 3700 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park, NY, on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 PM. We will share our memories of Paul over drinks.
