Ann:
I am glad that Bob and I were able to reconnect after several years. I had thought about him and you frequently over the years, but sadly time got in the way. For some reason (maybe God told me to), one day, Bob popped into my mind and I googled “Robert C. Fox, Buffalo, NY”…and there was your phone number. Well that certainly made my day and I was so happy that we were able to visit a few times over the last several months. Bob was my best friend (“shipmate” in nautical talk), when we were aboard the Breckinridge. Bob was a very easy person to like….with his positive attitude, sense of humor and his work ethic….traits that we shared (at least I think so). I will always remember how he always talked about you and pronounced your last name in his “best French accent.”
I know that you have many fond memories after 60 year of being married to “my best shipmate,” so cling to those memories with family and friends. I hope that you can find comfort in knowing that Bob is no longer suffering. I’m sure Bob will be very happy in his new home.
I will be thinking of Bob and your family on Thursday.
Take care.
